For Kazakhstan, reducing energy consumption at all levels of production is a significant national challenge, particularly in the processing and beneficiation of ores. The most labor-intensive and energy-consuming process in beneficiation technology is ore grinding, which accounts for approximately 64% of energy costs. Therefore, reducing energy consumption is a highly relevant objective today. Each year, billions of tons of mineral raw materials are ground worldwide. In Kazakhstan alone, about 150 million tons of ore undergo grinding annually. This primarily includes ore for extracting valuable minerals such as zinc, aluminum, lead, chromium, uranium, magnesium, titanium, and coal. This process is highly energy-intensive. Currently available mills consume enormous amounts of electricity, with specific energy consumption for ore grinding reaching up to 15-20 kWh per ton. The development of centrifugal-gyro mills with increased productivity, reduced metal consumption, and lower energy demand is a critical design and technological task. Equipping the industry with such mills will enhance their efficiency and productivity.
