The article is devoted to modern ore grinding mills, which are an important tool in the mining industry. Among them, the calculation of the design of ball mills is considered. Ball mills are important equipment in various industries that require grinding to a specific particle size. These devices are widely used in mining, cement, chemical and other industries. This article provides an overview of the main components of the ball mill design, including the drum, ball charges, drive and gearbox, and lining. In the context of achieving optimal results, technological aspects such as particle size, operating mode and cooling systems are considered. The article also discusses new trends in the design of ball mills. The introduction of modern materials, automation and multi-sensor systems improves the efficiency and reliability of mills. Energy efficiency, calculation model integration and hybrid solutions are highlighted as promising areas of development. The article concludes by highlighting the role of ball mills in modern industry and forecasting their future development to meet today's performance, sustainability and sustainability requirements. It is noted that the choice of a mill for grinding ore depends on the specific conditions and requirements of production, and the correct choice leads to increased efficiency of ore processing processes and reduced production costs.
